This is what we will offer for your animal when they are a guest with us.
- Twice daily exercise outside in our fenced yard. (For dogs)
- Daily bedding changes
- Your own food, or our recommended house brand*, according to your instructions
- Administration of medications
- Any treats or toys that you would like to leave.
- Sunday evening hours for you to pick up your pet after a long weekend.
- Access to services while they are visiting with us.
- A nice refreshing bath before they go home, if you would like.
*We feed Purina EN, which is a veterinary formula for sensitive stomachs and can often help eliminate the chance of vomiting or diarrhea related to the stress of boarding. We have found this diet to be extremely effective for controlling stress related symptoms.
It should be noted that some animals simply do not eat or do not eat well while away from their home environment. Boarding may cause stress, which can cause vomiting, loose stools or diarrhea. This may last a couple of days even after returning home and is no cause for alarm. If your pet develops any symptoms while here, a doctor will be notified and our staff will monitor them closely to ensure that no more serious symptoms arise.
In order to ensure the safety of your pet and our staff, we do have the following vaccine requirements for your pets.
For Dogs:
- Rabies
- Distemper/Parvo
- Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
- A fecal exam within the past year (to check for intestinal parasites)
For Cats:
- Rabies vaccine
- FVRCP vaccine (feline viral rhinotracheitis calcivirus panleukopenia)
- A fecal exam within the past year (to check for intestinal parasites)
All pets are required to be free from fleas. In order to prevent infestation of our hospital, any animal found to have fleas will be treated per Doctor recommendation.
We can also house your rabbit, ferrets, or pocket pets while you are away. Call us for specific arrangements.
If your animal is on multiple medications, or has medical abnormalities, we recommend that you schedule a consultation with one of our regular Doctors prior to boarding admittance. This will give you the comfort of knowing who will be with your animal in the event of an emergency and the Doctor can give you advice about what to expect while they are boarding here.
We advise you to make your boarding reservations as soon as you know that you will need them.(Particularly large breeds) It is not uncommon for us to have reservations 6 months or more in advance.
